Full course description
Farming Fundamentals is an educational program designed for producers who are beginning a new venture in agriculture. This self-paced, online course provides participants with foundational knowledge, essential resources, and practical tools to build a successful farm business.
Core topics include goal setting, enterprise selection, recordkeeping, marketing strategies, financial planning, and risk management.
Course content is developed and delivered by University of Tennessee Extension Farm Management Specialists within the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, with insights from Extension agents, experienced producers, and industry professionals across the state.
Completion of the Farming Fundamentals course meets the educational requirement for Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) Beginning Farmer cost-share funding through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
